Daniel Parkin~ Gone Solo
Daniel Parkin was born in California. When still a small child, he moved to Red Clay Park, Tennessee with his Mother, Bernice Landstrom. His mother taught Daniel to sing, write songs, and harmonize with all his Uncles, in the Appalachian mountain tradition of the Carter Family.
Daniel is a self taught guitar player, and a prolific songwriter and many of the songs on Dirt Road Delight’s debut album were written by Daniel. He has a great gift for singing, writing and playing and is also a gifted mechanic. Daniel loves living with as little environmental impact as possible in a tiny two room house he built from found items.He heats a hot tub with his woodstove, and grows his food organically.
Update~ Daniel quit Dirt Road Delight right before the album was finished. We are still moving forward in sending out the beautiful voice he has and the music he has written. We just won’t be performing as a group with Daniel..
