Jim Hampton

Jim Hampton got his first guitar from his grandpa at age three. Singing in church, talent shows, and community theaters, Jim has been an entertainer from early on.

Ten years after working as an outdoor/adventure professional, he returned to his entertainment roots, putting together his band, “Jim Hampton and The Hayseeds.” Jim moved to Nashville a few years later and was fortunate enough to quickly fill his schedule with gigs in honkytonks and bars around the area and on the “infamous” street Broadway.

In 2007 Jim was chosen to represent Nashville in the 50th Anniversary celebration with sister city, Canne, France. In 2008 he was featured in an interview for Nashville Tourism Channel’s section on country music. He has written with many writers and played with many musicians.

After playing and writing with band mate Kristin Sell, the two developed their duo show, “Hampton Sell.” Jim is continually playing, writing and recording and promoting their CD “What Do We Have to Lose.”
